KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) — A teenage boy has been meditating in a Nepalese jungle for six months, and thousands have flocked to see him, with some believing he is the reincarnation of Buddha, police and media said Wednesday. Ram Bahadur Banjan, 15, has meditated, allegedly sans food or water, in the Nepalese jungle for six
months. He sits cross-legged and motionless with eyes closed among the roots of a tree in the jungle of Bara, about 100 miles south of the capital, Katmandu. He's supposedly been that way since May 17 - but his followers have been keeping him from public view at night. A reporter for the Kantipur newspaper, Sujit Mahat, said he spent two days at the site, and that about 10,000 people are believed to visit daily. Soldiers have been posted in the area for crowd control,
officials said. A makeshift parking lot and cluster of food stalls have sprung up near Banjan's retreat, an area not previously frequented by visitors. Many visitors believe Banjan is a reincarnation of Gautama Siddhartha, who was born not far away in southwestern Nepal around 500 B.C. and later became revered as the Buddha, which means Enlightened One. Others aren't so sure.

Police inspector Chitra Bahadur Gurung said officers have interviewed the boy's associates about their claim that Banjan has gone six months without food or drink. Officers have not directly questioned the boy, who appears deep in meditation and doesn't speak. "We have a team ... investigating the claim on how anyone can survive for so long without food and water," Gurung said.

Local officials have also asked the Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology in Katmandu to send scientists to examine Banjan.
Mahat said visitors can catch a glimpse of Banjan from a roped-off area about 80 feet away from him between dawn and dusk.
Followers then place a screen in front of him, blocking the view and making it impossible to know what he is doing at night, Mahat said.

"We could not say what happens after dark," Mahat said. "People only saw what went on in the day, and many believed he was some kind of god." Buddhism teaches that right thinking and self-control can enable people to achieve nirvana — a divine state of peace and release from desire. Buddhism has about 325 million followers, mostly in Asia.

Ram Bahadur Bomjon (born May 9, 1989, sometimes Bomjan or Banjan), and also known as Palden Dorje, is a 16-year-old Buddhist monk from Ratanapuri village, Bara district, Nepal who has drawn thousands of visitors and media attention for spending months in meditation allegedly without food or water. His story has gained popularity because it resembles a Buddhist legend from the Jataka Nidanakatha about Gautama Buddha's enlightenment, so much so that some devotees claim Ram is the reincarnation of the Buddha. However, on November 8, 2005 Dorje arose and said to the public, "Tell the people not to call me a Buddha. I don't have the Buddha's energy. I am at the level of rinpoche." He has said that he will need six more years of meditation before he may become one. The boy is gathering a following from all around the globe, and his hometown is full of tourists from throughout Nepal every day.

According to Buddhist beliefs, this boy is not a reincarnation of any previous Buddha. Once a person reaches the state of enlightenment (bodhi) and becomes a Buddha, he is never reincarnated. To become a Buddha means ending the continuous cycle of birth, death, and rebirth that it is believed the mind goes through until reaching enlightenment. Any human being can become a Buddha by realising the true nature of existence but when one reaches this point, by definition, the cycle of reincarnation is extinguished.

Bomjon could be a Bodhisattva, a person on the path to attaining full enlightenment. According to the historical Buddha, Gautama Buddha, there were twenty seven forms of Buddha before him. Bomjon could also be the incarnation of Maitreya Bodhisattva, the predicted successor to Sakyamuni.

It is reported that his mother fainted when she found out that her son meditated for an undefined period of time. His mother's name is Maya Devi Tamang, the same first name as Buddha's mother.

Early Life
According to his family and neighbors, Dorje often acted differently from his childhood friends, frequently observing other people in worship and praying himself. He was born with a "peaceful nature" and would never get into a fight or kill an animal. Beginning at the age of five he only took leftovers for food, and went hungry if there was nothing.

He was accepted into the priesthood by Sombahadur Lama of Sudha, Ward 8 of Chhatiwan Village Development Committee. He hesitated to shave his head as is typical for a Buddhist priest; photos show him with a full head of hair. At the end of his training his class went to Lumbini, birthplace of Gautama Buddha, but instead of returning directly home with the rest of his class he continued on to Dehradun to receive additional teaching.

Returning home from Dehradun, he became ill for some time, and when he recovered he walked with a limp. On May 16, 2005, he admonished his family to not kill animals or drink alcohol, then left home while they slept. A search was conducted and he was found meditating under a nearby pipal tree. He told his family to go home and not worry. When his mother continued to despair, he plucked six leaves from the tree and gave them to her, saying, "Take these leaves home and keep them in a safe condition. If you lose these leaves, you will not be able to find me. If you keep them safe, I will remain with you forever." On July 24, 2005, he opened his eyes to tell his brother to call him "Om Namo Buddha Gyani" ("salute to the wise Buddha".)

Scientific Tests
An average human being who stops drinking will die of dehydration in three to four days. According to the Guinness Book of Records the longest time a human has survived without water is 18 days. The boy's followers claim the boy has gone for several months without drinking any water.[1]

Bomjon has been observed not to leave the tree at least during the daytime, but nobody is allowed to approach him too closely. Between 5:00 PM and 5:00 AM nobody is allowed to see him, and a screen is erected for that purpose. Many people speculate that he eats and drinks during this time.

Most supporters believe that, even if Ram does eat and drink at nighttime, the ability to sit nearly motionless in the same position day after day, with no regard for extremes of weather including a cold winter and a monsoon season, is in itself a remarkable thing. Bomjon's local supporters claim that the money donated by visitors is used to provide security and assert that he meditates all night.

In December 2005, a nine-member committee led by Gunjaman Lama watched Dorje carefully for 48 hours and observed him not to take any food or water during that time. A video recording was also made of this test. However, they were unable to approach closer than 3 meters or take readings of his vital signs. The Nepalese government once planned a more careful scientific study but this plan has since been scrapped.

Disappearance
Bomjon, after about ten months of meditation, went missing on March 11, 2006. It is unclear whether or not he left for the local jungles or was abducted. Some believe he ventured farther into the jungle to seek a more serene place for intensive meditation. There is an ongoing investigation.

According to mother of Guru, the family had migrated to Terai in about 2028 B.S. mangsir from Lalitpur District, Aashrang VDC. The Guru is third son of Maya Tamang. After meditating 3 months The Guru himself bapt his name as Om Namo Guru Buddha Gyani Tulku Tamang Rimpoche. His ancestor are well known for flying Lamas and worship Konchhyog soom gombo chhyasi every fullmoon day of Baishakh.

Birthplace of Guru was in Bara District, Ratanpur VDC ward no. 5. Palden Dorje Lama, name given by Guru's Lama, is called as Ram Lama Tamang Bomzon by the villagers.

Remembering the childhood of The Guru, his mother utters:
After his birth he weeped with large sound. If the mother ate meat, during the Guru was in womb of Maya Tamang, she used to suffer from diarrohea. After 3 years of age, the first meal always be served to Guru. If not then he deny the food.

With the abnormal behavior of Guru, Guru's father let him learn Buddhist Text in Som Bahadur Bomzon Tamang, one of villagers. He was sent to meditate in Gufa for 1 month by his priest. And learned Buddhist Text for 2 years with Lama.

In 2060 B.S. for celebrating Buddha Jayanti, he went along with 9 Lama priest in Lumbini, Birth place of Gautam Buddha. From there Guru went to India's Deharadun Shakya Gumba whereas the other 9 returned to the village. The Shakya Gumba named The Guru as Tshering Dorje Lama. And he again returned his house in the month of Paush 2061.

Again, in the month of Chaitra 2061 B.S. Guru went to Pokhara for search of place to medidate. But he suffered from some paralysis in his hand and leg so returned to his home. On his treatment in village he used to say- "Plz don't cut animals with my name. Don't take any Cigaratte and wine. If done so then some unnatural calamaties may arise." So he went for his Strong Meditation (Kachhen Duba) after relifying from paralysis.

In the month of Jestha 2062, He was taken to Char Koshe Jhadi by some god. This was the most important fact. Normally people can't believe those supernatural power. Then search of Guru was extremely done by the berieved family. Nobody could find Where Guru went?Where did he went? Nobody could predict. And the berieved family began to searh within the village.

Meanwhile, guru's brother Gangalal Tamang went to search him laal village and to Nijghad. But he too couldn't find him. He uttered this message to the family. The family was now in great tention. They were just praying that whereever he goes he may be safe and sound.
But their neighbours Lila Bahadur Shrestha saw Guru passing through westpart of tribulets when he was collecting mangoes. This was at the day of 11:00 AM. Guru asked politely to lila Bahadur Shrestha, "What are you doing?". He answered that he was collecting mangoes. Guru also picked one mango from the tree and Guru went to the tribulates with mango. Guru drowned the tribulate with his clothes.
Lila Bahadur asked Guru that the reality is far from that you lost. Guru answered him that he was not lost and he also requested Lila not to touch him and make Lila go home.

Lila asked his mother that you lied me saying that Guru was lost. Lila told her mother that Guru is safe and sound at tribulate. Lila's mother informed this information to the Guru's family. And Guru's brother shyam tamang, niece ashok tamang and sister bimala tamang went to the tribulate where Guru was showering. When Guru saw them he smiled with his own style. But Guru didn't go with them.

And Guru's sister in law, brother's wife, plead him to go home with her but didn't answered her. Guru's brother SHyam and niece Ashok Tamang remain stay with Guru and sister in law went home. Guru's niece and brother played at tribulate whole the day. At the evening Guru picked two mangoes and ate a mango a little.

Guru ordered his brother to bring a glass of milk, a pot of water, rice, Lama dress, Garland and a buddha's photo. Nearby the tribulate there was a huge mango tree but people cut down the tree and made field there. In the root of the same cutted tree he started to meditate. guru's brother Shyam informed everyfact about the event to this father and family but father didn't believed at all.

According to the Guru's order brother Shyam met all the required things ordered by the Guru. But the sister ManKumari promised to return the Guru at any cost from the tribulet. when she arrived the place she saw skeleton body of the Guru and sister returned to home weeping thinking that what she had saw, skeleton body of Guru. When she was crying Guru requested her not to cry.

All the villager gathered at one place. When Guru was meditating he asked question himself and answered himself. When villagers saw this abnormal behaviour of Guru they think that Guru was mad or he suffered from typhoid.

When Guru's brother requested him to go home and touched him then the body became red as fire. Guru said to his brother, "it is my final promise and please give me a chance".

"If we, Guru and brother, returned home then one of us will die", Guru said to his brother. So, he thought that i shouldn't stop him or i shouldn't disturb him, appeared in the brother's mind. His brother thought that he should make his wish fulfilled.

Guru chanted mantra by taking the names of 108 different gods. Guru said to his brother, "If somebody touch the things I requested to bring then my meditation will go for 20 years, and if nobody touch me then my meditation will go for just 6 years." Nobody touched the things so he is now meditating for 6 years. Guru ordered to his brother that he will go for meditation at Damar at 8:00 PM.
But the elders of the village said him to stop from this. At 8:00 PM waked up from the meditation and wore up Lama Uniform and went to the Damar. Guru requested all the people not to come at the Damar. When Guru was going to the Damar by carrying the required things himself then his brothers asked him that they will also go with him. And Guru took his youngest brother with him. But youngest Shyam refused to go there at night. Guru thinked for a while and confirmed to go at Damar with youngest brother Shyam and his elder brother Ganga. Guru's parents requested them to carry a pot of water, dunlop and a pillow for Guru. Ganga and Shyam followed Guru by carrying the things send by the parents. When they were passing Lal river at south some villagers saw them and confirmed to follow them that where Guru would go for meditation. But Guru ultimately knew that some villagers were following them and he told this to his brothers. When elder brother looked back then there were some villagers and he requested them not to follow so, they returned passing Lal river. But embarassing fact was that Guru shouldn't look back but also he knew about the villagers without looking back. This is the most important example of supernatural power for the people who donot believe in God.

Guru said to his brothers, "no more people should come here while I am meditating except you two". When Guru was going for meditation at Damar he took brothers from the way of jungle not the way of road. And his brothers said him, "Are you mad?, you are taking us from the way of jungle which is very dangerous." Guru just answered that he would just make them go to the destination. Guru, took them from the blending way as if it was the way of cobra. Guru ordered them not to cross the indicated saal tree. Two brothers stayed there where guru ordered them to stay. Guru carried the required things by himself there. The place of meditation was a bit far from the indicated saal tree. But one uneven fact was that he used to took required things in the interval of 5-5 seconds. Two brothers were embarassed by seeing such a quick work done by Guru within 5-5 seconds. This is also the most important part of the supernatural power. Guru ordered two brothers to return home and to bring some fresh fruits of 10 kinds at tommorow 11 AM safely without making touch to anyone. And he also ordered them to call him with name Palden Dorje Lama the same tommorow. To recognize the place tommorow by the brothers Guru kept long trunk of tree across the way of the same place.

As the order of Guru two brothers took fresh fruits of ten kinds at the same place where a long trunk of tree was kept across the way they called the Guru with the name Palden Dorje Lama but Guru didn't answered after looking around the surrounding the Guru was under the peepal tree meditating there as if it was a statue. After seeing two brothers Guru woke up from the meditation and went towards the brothers he took the fruits without speaking. He offered those fruits at the photo of Lord buddha. He margined round the peepal tree and requested brother not to touch and not to come inside the margin.
The elders of the village gathered and went to the place where Guru was meditating and observed the place. On 2062, jestha 4 he requested and ordered the people to return back to their respective home. On 2062 jestha 9 which is celebrated as Buddha Purnima (Birthday of Lord buddha). Guru decided to celebrate the ceremony at the place where was meditating and elder of village was agreed about it. And the donation collected at the ceremony was kept at the place of meditation and it was used for religious purpose.

At the same night about 10 people went to the place where Guru was meditating and charged some sticks to the Guru and they took those money which was collected at the ceremony.

Guru told to this brothers that he will change the place of meditation at 7:00 AM tommorow morning. He gave six leaves of Peepal to his brother and told him to keep those peepal leaves in the oil and he went for the meditating at Southern part. By seeing the pathetic condition of Guru, mother and sister were crying.

All the villagers knew about the situation that Guru changed the place of meditation. All the people were in sorrow and Guru's family were crying. One monk also arrived the place and checked his horoscope and forecasted that this boy is really powerful and this evening or tommorow he will come at the same place.

At the evening time one cowboy saw the Guru and informed all the villagers about it. After getting the information brother went to the same place where cowboy uttered. And brother said to the people that he was meditating with silence. After the meeting 4 people were sent at the place where Guru was meditating and they asked Guru that what he was doing? and they also asked that what is insufficient for you at home? There are 4-5 acre of land and why are you so sorrowful? They also requested Guru to return home and after a while Guru replied I will not go home at any cost. Those people also said Guru that they will sent him to Gumba with 1.5 lakhs rupees. And Guru replied that I can go to the Gumba but if i go there then the head Lama of the Gumba should leave the Gumba. And he also said that again i will change my meditating place and he went to another peepal tree. He ordered those people to help him and he told the place of margin where they mustn't cross.

After some days there was a crowded people and requested his family to make a small home like stuff where only a man can stay. For 15 days he meditate inside the house.

After then Guru Ordered the villagers he has got some supernatural power and now i will meditate under the peepal tree. After that time everynight some light was seen around his body. After then he meditate at the place and is also now meditating at the same place. He requested that to Lama to offer ritual ceremony of snakes. At the time the villagers lack water for the agriculture.

Guru told to the people, that after ritual ceremony of snakes there will be rainfall in the village. Snakes are worshipped as the god of the rain in our country. After the call of Lama for the ritual ceremony of snake, the ceremony was held for 5 days. Fortunately, there was rainfall in the village as Guru told about it. He woked up from the meditation at 2062 bhadra 2, and ordered to call lama friend. He ordered to rap up his body with plastics. All the lama talked good about the Guru. And they asked Guru You are still living without water? Guru replied that two snake are here which feed me milk and protect me from external forces. He changed white clothes. He ordered people to celebrate ritual ceremony of Dashain by liting 1 lakh butter lamps and the ritual ceremony was completed withing 3 days. He was invited by the snakes to get some knowledge of super natural power and snake bite him with strong poison. Upto 6 months he meditate without water. And he digested the poison of snakes and do not make his meditation disturbed. And he get some more supernatural powers. 1000 of piligrims were in sorrow that now what will happen. After seeing the pathetic condition of Guru 1000 of piligrims, family and relatives were crying in deep sorrow. To sustain for a long time with meditating in tree stone and soil to digest the poison of snake, to sustain in storm, air and water and can to speak with animals and to recognize the language of animals is the significance of bodhisatwa in buddhism.

We can know this from the same new buddha which is real and unimaginable. Guru ordered that for five days no piligrims should allowed here and my face should be covered by clothes. On kartik 25, 2062 after 5 days of meditation he gave chance to worship him to the folk. And light from the head of the Guru started to appear and the belief towards him is increasing day by day. Guru ordered to the people that to give him peaceful environment for meditation. and also aware the people if I am given a peaceful environment peace in the world will come.

At every night at 12 strong light appear from the neck of Guru and became huge round around his head which makes him the real god of the present world.

And now just few days ago, the white clothes of Guru was automatically burnt out. Because in buddhism only red cloth is suitable for meditation so Guru ordered people to wear up him with red clothes as it was ordered from heaven.

It is really difficult to believe this type of event but it is happening real in the present scenerio in nepal, the birth place of Lord Buddha. We and you all should not critisize this fact rather we should join our hands together and move our steps towards the protection of such supernatural power that Guru is getting. We will get more purified if we join our hands for the publicity of Guru. Hope that all the viewers will do it.
